Sasha Belonogoff (Aus U23 Men’s Quad 2009 -silver at World U23) , Nick Purnell (Aus U23 Men’s Eight 2009) and Charles Budd and Ed White ( Aus Men’sU23 Lightweight Four 2009) were presented with the “Blues” jackets at the Annual Blues Dinner in the Great Hall of Sydney University on 21st November. Pictured here is from left is Ed, Nick, Sasha, club captain Nick Hudson, Elite Athlete manager Ian Evans and Charles on the far right.
Both Nick and Sasha have made the remarkable achievement of gaining a Blue in their first year at University.
The 2009 Blues recipients join a distinguished group of Sydney Uni Boat Club rowers including Marty Rabjohns 2004 (2008 Olympic eight cox), Nick Hudson 2003 (pictured, medallist at U23 and Sen A Worlds), Francis Hegerty 2002 (bronze medallist 2003 U23 and Olympic silver medallist 2008) and Terrence Alfred 2005 (2007 U23 bronze medal and stroke of the 2009 winning NSW Kings Cup crew.
Blues were also awarded to SUWRC rowers Sally Kehoe, Sarah Cook and Kylie Duff.
