Tokyo gold medallists Jack Hargreaves and Alex Purnell along with bronze medallist Rowena Meredith lead SUBC’s contingent selected into the 2022 Senior Australian Rowing Team for the Rowing World Cups
Joining these rowers is Jack O’Brien ( men’s four ) and senior debutants Will O’Shannessy and Jackson Kench (men’s eight).
The women’s sculling squad is stacked with SUBC members. Joining Meredith is Australia’s top women’s sculler, Tara Rigney along with clubmates Kate Rowan and Georgie Gleeson while Lucy Coleman has been selected in the lightweight women’s double scull.
The women’s sweep group sees Eleanor Price make the senior team for the first time in the eights squad along with coxswain Talia Barnet – Hepples.
David Bartholot has been selected as the men’s sculling reserve and will compete for Australia at the World Cups.
Former SUBC Head Coach, Mark Prater will take the men’s eight having coached the men’s sculling quad to an Olympic bronze in the last cycle.
This rounds out a remarkable 13 athletes and a former coach selected onto the Senior Australian Rowing Team for the 2022 World Cups. That’s rowing development !!
